“Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away’” (Revelation 21:1-4).

Despite what the media may have us believe, I have seen example after example of the Spirit of God working in the places and spaces God was once asked to leave. My heart grieves for our world, and it yearns for the end to come, which is really not an end at all, but then I see these examples, and I am reminded that there are lost sheep out there who still need to be rescued. For the sake of these little ones, we, the children of light, must endure what is coming and do so joyfully. But how?  By not being conformed to this world, but rather, being transformed and renewed daily by our Lord, for that is how we will be able to attest to God’s good and perfect will and stand firm under adversity (Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 4:16).

Ready or not, we haven’t seen anything yet. Between COVID and all the social and political unrest, across the globe, right wing or left, we rely on our own understanding, but keep watching; hearts are being revealed in 2020! I am in awe of what I see God doing right now, but as the post I shared below reminds, let us be on our guard too. If nothing else she writes is true, then at least be on the watch for “repentance, a turning of the heart and the mind;” this is how what is of God, and what is not, will be distinguished, with regard to revival. Jesus calls upon us to interpret the signs of the times (Matthew 16:3). I cannot stress enough that hearts are being revealed. Let us enter into a place of humility, of fasting and prayer.

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:9-14).

“Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, ‘Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.’ But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly” (2 Peter 3:3-7).

Unfortunately, people have been screaming, “End times!” since Bible times, and so we find ourselves in a kind of “boy that cried wolf” situation. Admittedly, history repeats itself, but we are now living in a time when technology and infrastructure, as well as other factors, are finally falling into place. Although coming events may not play out precisely as commonly predicted, the world is on a particular trajectory. Although I admit that I am still fearful of the unknown, which lies ahead, but in my spirit, I am excited too! It is, after all, Good News! News, too good, not to share with the world!

There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away’” (Revelation 21:1-4).
