“Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme” (1 Timothy 1:18-20).

Just a quick update for my two hundredth post!

First and Second Timothy and Titus provide good instruction for Christian ministry, worship, and living. I am going to begin studying these three letters in greater depth. Context is important for understanding, but what if you find yourself allowing your worldview to color your interpretation of scripture? Everyone is quick to talk about how much the world has impacted the church, but how much has the church impacted the world? Everything from the break down of the family, to the confusion of gender roles, to all the devastation and pain caused by greed and selfish ambition, I wonder how many of the problems we find ourselves facing, as a society, today are actually the result of demonic forces set loose by those within the church. And what I am suggesting is not a liberal phenomenon, as some erroneously suggest, conservatives are guilty too, perhaps, more so, considering that among their ranks are those boasting to be most in tune to the Holy Spirit. Make no mistake, the abandonment of God’s Word is apostasy, no matter how seemingly harmless it manifests. How many millstones have teachers unknowingly hung around their own necks? (Matthew 18:6; Luke 17:2). Woe to the men who stoned Stephen (Acts 7:54-60); that same spirit is active and busy today.

This is my two hundredth post, and I have decided to take a break from speaking, as well as writing, for a little while, whether it be sharing here or via other mediums. Instead, I plan to devote more time to studying scripture, listening, and prayer. God hasn’t abandoned me yet, so on to the journey ahead wherever it may lead! Jesus is with me, always! I believe changes are on the horizon in the coming year, not all popular, not all easy, and some that may be difficult to understand. My witness will no longer be sidetracked by the stifling of my conscience, even if that means saying good bye to family and friends in peace. Satan is coming at the children of God from all sides. Please do not be deceived otherwise. Therefore, repent and be saved, for the Kingdom of God is at hand! (Matthew 3:2; Matthew 4:17; Mark 1:15). God bless!
