“Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory” (Romans 8:17).

Yes, as the title implies, I met Jesus, the Lord, literally, in my living room one night, and I’ve come to realize that the message the Lord shared with me was meant for every believer, including those who will come to believe. “Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory” (Romans 8:17). And as the apostle Paul goes on to write: “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters” (Romans 8:29). What an unimaginable, exciting, humbling, powerful, loving, words cannot do justice, spiritual encounter, which continues to reverberate in my life today!

I shared this message of personal testimony at the 24-Hour Fasting and Prayer Event on November 2, 2018 at my church. Psalm 139:23-24 was a central scripture for the two day event: “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” I understand that claiming to have had a literal encounter with God is not going to be easy for everyone to believe. Some may think I’m crazy, some may think I’m deceived, while others may even think I’m a liar, but none of these will deter me from sharing my testimony. God really does work everything together for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). I got to see a portion of this good work come to fruition the evening of November 2, and I have been granted the honor of sharing it with anyone willing to listen.

I will pick up my study of Romans, or as I call it my Roman holiday, with Romans 5.
